Sungjoon Choi is an Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Korea University and leads the AI Imaging Lab. Prior to that, he was a Staff Software Engineer at Google Research in Mountain View, CA from 2015 to 2025, working on computational imaging and related areas. From 2008 to 2010, he worked at Microsoft in Redmond, WA.

He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2015 under the supervision of Vladlen Koltun and completed his B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University in 2007. He was a recipient of the Samsung Scholarship and a two-time finalist in the ACM-ICPC World Finals in 2002 and 2006.
